From Denmark

Quick answer

Danish citizens need a visa to enter Russia. For most trips you need an official invitation, which we issue from $19 in about 5 minutes, then you submit it with your passport at a Russian consulate.

How Danish citizens get a Russian visa

The process is the same five steps that apply to most nationalities: obtain your invitation, find your consulate, prepare your documents, complete the application form and submit it. The invitation is the step we handle for you instantly.

Where to apply

The Russian Embassy in Copenhagen handles visa applications for Danish residents.

As a rule you apply in your country of citizenship or where you hold residency of 90 days or more. US citizens are an exception and may apply at any Russian consulate worldwide.

Documents required

  • Your official invitation (tourist voucher or business invitation)
  • A passport valid at least 6 months after the visa expires, with 2 blank pages
  • One 3.5 × 4.5 cm passport photo
  • Travel medical insurance valid for Russia
  • The completed and signed visa application form
  • The consular fee (paid to the consulate)

Which visa types are available

Danish travellers can apply for tourist, business, private, student and work visas. Many nationalities are also eligible for the unified e-Visa. See our visa types overview.
